When should I start planning the new year?

The turning of the calendar to a New Year has a sense of magic attached to it.
It represents potential, possibilities, and a fresh start.

For a brief moment, as the old year washes away, it seems like anything is possible.

The “New Year” tends to bring out the dreamer in all of us.

So we create lists in our heads of how things will change in the coming year. The vices we’ll let go, and the changes we’ll make.

Then it begins….

Yeah, I get it, it’s a term that’s grossly overused.

Kinda like “You reap what you sow”

Yet it hides a big secret.

“You get what you think about” is both a lesson AND a warning. Think about good things, you get them, think about bad, that’s what you get. It’s all about the thought.

“You reap what you sow”, is typically interpreted to mean that what happens in your world is the byproduct of your actions.

You work hard, you get the promotion, you drink and drive, you get arrested.
